"Small business can compete against larger rivals "

By: Mr Thacker

With the search engine first pages filled by big budget well established firms no surprise the smaller business owner is put off trying to compete with their own web site. When you see the all singing and dancing web designs that cost 1000's, where you want be, it's off putting to say the least.
To get on Another Level in business you need the internet. SEO or Search engine optimisation is expensive, unless you can find the golden nugget of a cheap firm that can do the same job as these expensive firms (they farm all the work out to 3rd world countries and charge overinflated rates); Inexpensive companies are out there but are hard to track down. So What next then?
One things for sure the Google spiders don't care if you paid the earth or did the SEO yourself.
Small business can compete against larger rivals if you can get clever.
1. Don't use keywords that have 10 billion results.
2. Don't mass link build. Choose high ranking places to put your links.
3. Don't worry about having whistles and bells on the website, that will keep the cost down, if it's professional looking you'll do more than get by.
4. Do use social networks and directories to place your links.
5. Write articles; let people know, what you think.
6. Make sure the domain name is one of your keywords.
7. Stay away from slow loading flash sites. The average web browser only hangs on for 3 seconds then moves to the next site.
Keep all these points in mind. Next time I will show you where and how to build those links.
