"The Mighty Uke" at Webster University

By: CJ Estrera

A strummy documentary named "The Mighty Ukulele" would have its screening this Friday to Sunday evenings at Webster University. A lot of people consider this as the most unlikely comeback in musical history by the ukulele that is considered to be an underdog instrument.
Ukulele is recognized as the miniature relative of the guitar. It is tough to fight every time the ukulele is being played due to the music it creates. The ukulele is also considered as among the friendliest instruments and actually viewed as the most user-friendly from all other instruments which may be the grounds behind the present resurgence in the popularity of ukuleles.
The ukulele didn't originate in Hawaii. It was introduced in 1875 by the Portugese settlers from the island of Madeira. The king of Hawaii called King Kalakaua asked the settlers and found that little stringed instrument adds festive flavor throughout parties. Currently, ukuleles are utilized in educational facilities for music appreciation.
"The Might Uke" will have its screening this Friday to Sunday at 7:30 pm in Moore Auditorium at the Webster University. The school is located at 470 East Lockwood Avenue. The entrance for the general public will cost $6.
