3 Unique Strategies & Tips to Weight Loss & Dieting

By: Shelly Adams

Dieting, I hate that word, don?t you? If you are like me - Whenever I launch a weight loss diet, it lasts just about 2 weeks and by that time, I am bored, sick to death of starving myself, and just plain hungry and nearly eat everything in sight! When I get to that point, I end up giving up on my dreams and goals and end up overeating and settling back into this old shoe! When I am deprived of something, I frequently desire it even further which is so hard to resist that temptation! When you can't enjoy something you normally would like, it seems you crave it even more. When that happens, I overindulge, devour whatever's in sight and then have to arrange to start all over.... It's a roller coaster ride for me, up and down. So, therefore, I am back where I started from and in most cases with a few added pounds to lose! Not anymore!

I have tried nearly everything on the market today! I have tried all the weight loss programs to weight loss pills, even those boxed dinners sent to your home address, oh and let us not overlook all the numerous fad weight loss diets out there, haven?t you? Nothing worked for me at that point.

Whether it's with dieting, or maybe even smoking, or any other habit you are trying to get under control, this maybe a difficult and challenging goal to achieve with the way your mind is thinking right now. How can you overcome that endless process to get ahead and achieve your ultimate goal? What is the difference in succeeding and failing with any weight loss program or diet? It's all in the mind whether you succeed or not with dieting or any weight loss program you decide.

I have a few weight loss tips that have helped me overcome my weight loss and hope they help you too!

To begin with, modify your mind set - Don't call it a diet! It's a lifestyle modification! Get that word out of your head! No further dieting for me, just changing the way I look at things!

Reward yourself - the number one way to stay motivated and stick to any diet or weight loss program is to splurge once a week... Have that one thing you crave, in moderation of course! Subsequently thought, get right back on track.

Do you have a weakness for chocolate? Depriving yourself and going cold turkey will simply hurt you in the long run and at that time you end up quitting. So, my suggestion to fill that urge - proceed to your neighborhood grocery store or department store and pick up one of those fun pack miniature bags of 3 Musketeers. These are bite sized candy bars with the least amount of calories on the market that I know of. Toss those in your freezer, You could even cut them in half to go one step further. Take one out every time you feel that sweet, chocolatey urge coming on. Just be certain you don't overdo it! Disciplined yourself! Take only one! That should stop that craving and you won't feel deprived any longer!

Do you overeat at the dinner table or at most meals? Do you go back for a second plate? One way to control your overeating is to have a glass of eight ounces of water just about a half hour prior to every meal. This will curve that craving and help you not overindulge!

How much water must you drink in a day?s time? Women ought to drink approximately 88 oz. and men should drink around 120 oz. of water in a 24 hour period. This is solely to acquire the proper amount of fluids your body needs. If you are overweight and trying to drop the pounds, you must add to that number somewhat to burn more calories.

Take it from me - I am an knowledgeable over eater, previously overweight person and these weight loss tips are sure to help!
