By: Wheezie Hamonds

All babies are on the upset side from time to time, but sometimes enough is enough!

I appreciate just what you mean...

As a Health Care provider for women, I see many new Mothers feeling extraordinarily overwhelmed with a baby that can be especially upset. After you have attempted to reassure, fed, then changed your baby, here are a number of additional tips to help you with your fussy infant.

Well without further hype, here are five tips and hints to help calm your fussy baby.

1. Try to make the room you are in as peaceful as you can Turn down any illumination, turn off the Computer and silence the phone. It is very possible that they are wound up by their surroundings and just needa break.
2. Temporarily put baby on their stomach while on your lap or held up aligned with you. A slightly warm towel or washcloth can feel very soothing to your child. By no means should ever keep the baby on their belly for prolonged durations without you around. Be certain to only rest your newborn on it's belly if you are close at hand and paying close mind! The weight on the tummy of your baby can be relaxing..
3. Attempt to swaddle your child. It offers infants the impression that they are back within the womb and makes them feel more assured.
4. Monotonous actions with the little ones head and neck supported, like bouncing faintly or rocking, can have very calming effects.
5. From time to time a good car ride is exactly what your infant needs to calm down and get some break. (So many parents that I know have driven for hours on end in order to help get his/her newborn to sleep soundly). The movement of the car along with the repetitive noises can do wonders for helping your baby catch a little breather.

I hope you will find benefit in these tips...I know I did when I went through durations like this. It certainly can be stressful... I know this from practice...

...but with a little patience you will have no difficulty comforting the little stressball.
