By: Roberto Garabell

So you just graduated college and you are having a very hard time finding a career in this job market, what are you going to do? What are the top markets to try to find work in the current economy?

In a current Business Week article, writer Prashant Gopal, tries to solve these questions.

The graduating Generation Y work seekers have an benefit over others for the reason that they are youthful, single and familiar and easy with technology. For these reasons, they are more expected to be able to transfer and work extensive hours. They are also less expensive to employers, with both work cost and health insurance (overall). One would think that with all these benefits, Gen Y job seekers would find employment with no trouble since that is what employers are looking for.

Well, this is evidently not the case today. Right now, graduates are having a very difficult time finding work even with all the benefits listed.

There are a few fields, though, that original grads are having a bit more luck in.

A lot of twentysomethings are having a bit of luck making their own work. Taking their strengths into account, fresh grads are opening more online businesses. When opening a business, you can anticipate a few things:
- You will work extended hours
- You will have to be portable
- You must be acquainted with technology well and be fluent in more than just Microsoft Word.
Several other job markets that is normally dominated by twenty somethings and current college graduates include:

1) The Airline Trade. With jobs like flight engineers and aerospace engineers, these jobs require more professional and skilled employees.

2) Banking. Yes, bank tellers and analysts are some of the jobs not closed and surprisingly Utah is the best place to get into this field.

3) Retail Stores. Retail sales is where countless companines, particularly marketing, students end up after graduation day.

4) Computer and electronics. It is always straightforward to believe the electronic and information technology field as a field that is particular to new graduates. The youngest job seekers have always been the ones that are more likely to know the most about advancements in machinery.

5) Teaching

6) Management jobs in DC. The District of Columbia has a elevated median salary for those underneath 30. At just over $55,000, the middle salary of government jobs for those underneath the age of 30 keeps fresh grads involved in DC.

7) Hospitals. Jobs in nursing offer extraordinary median salaries for recent graduates and the jobs are often plentiful right out of college.

Of course most of these jobs still are not hiring at the speed that people are graduating school. There are still a lot of issues surrounding the fact that more people are graduating than there are jobs.

Hence, when you graduate there might have to be a little bit of settling when it comes to merely paying the bills.
