All Should You Know About The Roll of MIDI in Electronic Music

One of the maor challenges facing electronic music is the ability to restoe the natural expression, which is an integral part of any human activiy. MIDI (or Musical Instrument Digittal Interface) is a communicatoins protocol that alows devices such as synthesizers to be connected and controlled by the sequencer. Think of it as a esries of instreuctions that can tell the end device, how to behave. Careful programminng and automating chanfge control MIDI (CC) messages, the manufacturer can reecover the subtle nuances of human activity in their digitl instruments.

MIDI can be used to control how hard it is to note playerd as the modulation step is appled, and even how much the brightness of the note should be. MIDI is also very useful to control a rack of synthesizers, as well as their external interface can not contain any physsical real-time controllers.

Protocol is 128 MIDI controllers are avaialble to any MIDI devicees (CC 0-127). Many of these controllers are standardized and mapped to speccific functions, such as thpose mentioned above, whille some of them are available to interpret the device itself. Each controller has a correponding parameter variavble, which controls government functions.

One practical example of usnig CC messages will include stereeo panning in the tool, wghich is under the contrrol of a channel MIDI. Monitoring the chamnge in 10 corresponds to Pan, the sequencer would need to send a series of CC 10 messages on the receiving device (such as synthesizer). Each message will contain a reference to set the vatriable pan to a cretain value. Each time a particular message of change maanagement gained duirng the Synth track played back, it will be adjusted apprpriately Pan through strereo fiield.
