All you need to know about Diesel Generators

Before starting your new Generating Set -Things to test
Please make sure you read the instructions with manual, along with the engine and alternator manuals. It is very important read all the instructions. The generating set you've gotten purchased will give you satisfactory operation for ages provided you follow the instructions.

Please note the next points:
· Check the fuel tank can be filled, before starting.
· Make certain the 13 amp supply to the battery charger and water heater are connected.
· Check the control panel for any damage, prior to starting.
· Check the radiator for visible leaks and damage, before starting.
· Check the batteries for visible leaks and damage, before starting.
· Check the engine for visible leaks and damage, prior to starting.
· Be sure that the battery continues to be correctly filled to the levels required, as they are normally shipped in any dry condition.
· If the engine is fitted which has a water separator, drain the water out of the separator. Guarantee that the fuel is turned on, and that the fuel system have been bled.
· Where to Fill or check the fuel oil level.
· Where to Fill or check the lubricating oil level.
· Where to Fill or check the water level.

Start the engine via way of the key start, start push-button or duty selector switch after you are sure that the engine is from a satisfactory condition.

Check for any possible leaks or hidden damage which may have occurred during transport before loading the engine.

Starting a Generating Set for those First time

Starting and stopping of the unit is facilitated by way of a start/stop push-button on electric start units, located on the control panel or a key switch. Pushing the appropriate start/stop push-button or turning the key change to a start position will start and stop the unit.

Identify the control panel settings by checking the set visually.Observe whether automatic start with no manual intervention is programmed into the set.
