Nowadays, nearly everyone owns PC. Each PC comes with an Operating System that provides wide collection of wallpapers. Those wallpapers are large picture format that can be used as desktop background. Wallpaper appears on the display, when the PC or mobile device is on home or idle screen.

As computer got more useful and necessary for the past few years, more mobile devices are being invented and introduced by the electronic companies. Other than Desktop PC and Laptop (Notebook) PC, now there are Smartphones, Netbooks and the currently introduced tablet computer. Each of those devices, will have display and each user will decorate it with their favorite wallpaper.

While many of the PC or mobile devices comes with default wallpapers, the user can change it into other pictures. Some user uses the pictures provided by the manufacturer while most of the users that have internet access will try to find wallpapers that they would love to have on their desktop background.

There are many different category of wallpapers on the internet that is available for free to anyone. Some examples are car wallpapers, celebrity wallpapers, fantasy wallpapers, beautiful places wallpapers and many more. However, two category that are often searched through the Internet is Celebrity Wallpapers and Anime Wallpapers.

Celebrity Wallpapers consists of actors, actress, models, supermodels and much more. It has photo shots of famous person in large resolution so that it can fit into the display resolution. Celebrity Wallpapers are all over the internet and to find the one you would love to have on your desktop is much more easier than finding any other type of desktop wallpapers. Female celebrities are more famous than male celebrities because female celebrities, most of them are involved as fashion models. This has made it hard to find a good quality wallpapers of male celebrity wallpapers. The majority of the Celebrity Wallpapers on the internet are of the female celebrities. In fact, female celebrities wallpapers are more searched than male celebrity wallpapers.

Anime wallpapers consists of anime pictures that are either scanned from comics or designed by graphic designer experts. Although it is not more famous than Celebrity Wallpapers, it is actually more beautiful for desktop because of the color and effects on the wallpapers. Additionally, as there are Anime Wallpapers designed using the computer, the quality is much more higher than any wallpapers made using photo shots.

Wallpapers are in different resolutions. Few years ago, small resolution is good enough to fit into desktop background without adjusting the width and height. So the displayed wallpaper quality will remain the same as the original picture quality. Today, display technology have developed to provide better display for users and so, larger desktop resolution becomes more common. Now, as it has become common, there are plenty of celebrity wallpapers and anime wallpapers in large resolutions on the Internet.

There are two types of wallpaper, one is standard or normal size and another is widescreen size. Normal or standard resolutions are still being used but more manufactures are providing users with widescreen monitors. Although any of the wallpaper type can be used for any monitor, for good display the wallpaper must be suitable for the monitor display resolution.
