Bernard Lavillier - undoubtedly The Most Talented French Pop Singer

After a hard struggle throughout his life, he succeeded to start his career as singer and lyricist.This is no doubt
that the full support from his second wife Evelyne, both in singing and songwriting brought him the strenght an artist needs.

Charmed by his talent an opportunity was given to him in Paris by the artistic director of the Decca label,after he saw him performing in the cabaret circuit. He recorded two singles and a debut album In 1967,his genre of music is a credible pop carabean sound and because he writes the songs and lyrics the listeners can feel through sharp melodies the scarrs Bernard carries as part of himself. He is greatly influenced by Leo Ferre ,another major french famous singer and his shows deliver the respect he has for his idol,especially when you feel the groove of an emotionnal poetic lyrics.

In 1972, Bernard released his next album "Les poètes" and used to perform solo performance in Latin American style
Latin rhythms. On Third album "Le Stéfanois" recorded in 1975,he wrote a song named Salome,an unique and original composition dedicated to his third daughter. By now Lavilliers, the rebel with a social conscience, was gaining a certain notoriety in the media and was naturally invited by Bruno Coquatrix chairman of the prestigious Olympia music-hall in Paris. For the first time he was given the opportunity to perform on a legendary stage and displayed such an amazing live performance that he came back for a whole week in March 78.

Since the 1970s Lavilliers has earned a reputation for being a committed social protester but no one can denye that
Bernard marked remarkable achievements in the french music universe and this is without no surprise that he was awarded the SACEM (SACEM is the French musicalcopyright association) Grand Prix de la chanson française for
his career as a singer/songwriter.
