Go Local in New York City

By: Jeffery Holter

Summer is here and it's time to plan your family's next great vacation. You could go to Disney World but the lines are terribly long and your kids are sick of Mickey Mouse. You could go see your parents in Nebraska but where's the fun in that? This year, it's time to consider doing something fun and different with the family. New York City is the ultimate vacation destination. We have museums, parks, the Statue of Liberty, skyscrapers galore, amazing food, and most importantly - BROADWAY! Sure, you can get parks and food anywhere but Broadway is a New York only attraction. New York City's theater district is located in a small space between 53rd to 42nd streets and from 6th to 8th avenues. There are approximately 36 theaters tucked into these few blocks and practically all of them are running a world famous show every single night. Sure, there are shows for adults only but there are also tons of shows that are family friendly. Take your child to a Broadway show young and it will be an experience that they will talk about for years to come.
If you make the excellent decision to take your family vacation in New York City this year, do your homework beforehand. There are about a million places to stay, two million places to eat, dozens of unique neighborhoods, and of course about 40 Broadway and off-Broadway shows to choose from. If you book your trip through a big online travel site, you might be getting the deals but you will also be getting the restrictions and terrible service. Once you buy a ticket with those companies, there are no refunds, no help if something goes wrong, and absolutely no helpful advice.
Believe it or not, local Broadway ticket companies are devoted to helping you find the best places to stay, delicious restaurants that your whole family will enjoy, transportation to and from the airports, and of course, tickets to the best Broadway shows in New York City. When you go local, you are buying not only tickets but an entire personalized concierge service. New York City Broadway ticket companies are usually staffed by New York locals who know the neighborhoods and can give you the absolute best advice on what to do when you're not busy seeing your 5th show of the week.
When it comes to New York City, go local.
