WMV files, also known as Windows Media Video Files, are one of the most popular and widely used digital video formats. You can also play a WMV file in Linux; this system also comes with several media players on board that support the codec for Media Video files as well. Linux usually comes with VLC player an Xine, which can play a WMV file. In any case though you can also download Media Player from Microsoft, choosing the right format, for Linux and enjoy your video files; in this case you will have a media player for WMA files which are the official digital format of audio files.
