How to correct and update your PC Registry Repairing and updating your PC Registry

By: Arlan Gorshich

If your PC is performing badly or if you are getting blue screens or actual system lockups and you’re thinking of getting a new computer, consider this. Your problem may lie in the System Registry file on your PC. If your system registry is faulty, with erroneous or duplicate data this can be your problem. This can slow you down or lock you up.
Your System Registry is the database of all the settings, parameters, codes and settings that Windows uses to run your applications. It contains, for example, the name of the launch file, its address or folder, and any parameters that this application uses during its execution. If there are any data corruptions with these values - called Keys, or if it’s damaged or duplicated, this can cause a slowing process while Windows verifies which set of data is correct or newer.
As with many Microsoft programs, it was not originally intended to perform the all-inclusive tasks that it now performs, nor was it created with appropriate levels of security and self-maintenance. Because this is very technical stuff, you’ll need professionally-developed quality registry software to get the job done.
Microsoft does not supply any type of utility process or program which will clean registry and reorganize the values and keys on this file. That means that over time it will become degraded or corrupt. It is up to you, the user, to do a registry fix on your own system, or use a registry software program to do it. If you are a technical person, there are printed articles that describe in technical detail exactly what to do, what to look for, and how to delete or update invalid data entries. Since most people are not technical, a windows cleaner software utility is the next best alternative - possibly even a better one.
First, obtain a quality Registry Backup tool - like ERUNT, available by searching the internet - and perform a Registry Backup before you do anything else. Secondly, get a quality Windows System Registry Software system - like RegistryEasy - to perform the Registry repair. You should avoid cheap or freeware products because they are not trustworthy.
After the scan is complete and you know you have errors, go to the next step. Run the update function and the software will correct all your errors, replace deleted DLL files and eliminate the redundancies. {Then you can finish by running the backup and storing safely your registry software package. | Finally, run the Backup step and save a copy of your registry software in a safe place.
