Indian Government initiates project to save the house sparrows from extinction

In September this year, the Indian ministry for setting and forest initiated a three year project to assist save the house sparrows in India. This project is to be wiped out collaboration with Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and its primary aim is to attempt to to everything thats doable to assist save the house sparrows from extinction. The project is to be headed by environmentalist Mohammed.E. Dilawar of BNHS. Dilawar has been dedicatedly operating for the cause of saving the house sparrows for the last 5 years and in 2008 the TIME magazine recognized him as a hero of the environment.

Though sparrows are the most typical birds in India, nevertheless, the rapidly expanding and encroaching menace of urbanization is threatening their existence. The invisible blanket of electromagnetic radiation from mobile phones, the pesticides within food grains and therefore the loss of habitat in urban settlements have vastly contributed to the slow disappearance of sparrows from the urban landscape.
