Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad) - Gem Amongst European Spa Areas

Carlsbad is the best well-known spa town situated in West Bohemia. It was founded about 1350 by the Holy Roman Emperor & King of Bohemia, Charles IV. Its impressive roads & colonnades are surrounded by peaceful wooded hills crisscrossed with mountaineering and cycling paths that are best for enjoyable walks all time of the year round.
A busy cultural events calendar, numerous festivals & international conferences make Karlsbad the main and liveliest spa town in the Czech Republic visited not only by the spa-goers but also celebrities. Karlsbad achieved its fame also thanks to its known plant based liqueur named Becherovka (nicknamed "The thirteenth Spring"), Mattoni mineral water, distinctive spa wafers, and Moser crystal work.
