Mingle Like A Pro

Currently that the holiday season is over, it's back to work! If the thought of meeting new people at a business event sends a chill up your spine, you are not alone. For many people networking is one thing we have a tendency to dread. Sadly, nowadays, it is not what you know. It's who you recognize or who is aware of you, that basically counts for business success. And although tradeshows and business mixers will be intimidating for anyone, they are also the proper opportunity to network and build business relationships. To feel a lot of relaxed at your next event, prepare ahead of time, with full stomach, the right attitude and the right tools.
The buffet line-up will be a nice place to strike up a conversation. Spending all it slow there will not create the best impression.
Food is best saved for thought, not conversation. Juggling food and drink can present challenges when meeting people, shaking hands or whereas trying to carry on a conversation.
When holding a drink, use your left hand. This will keep your right hand dry and obtainable for shaking hands with others.
Barbeques and ball games are in a very league of their own and my warrant drinking out of cans and bottles. But for most events glasses over bottles are the preferred choice.
Don't forget your networking tools! Bring business cards, brochures or profiles and wear a nametag.

When offering your business card, gift it thus it will be browse, with the printing facing the person receiving the card. Forever wait to be asked, before presenting your business card.
With a very little effort and self management, business events can be a quick, fun manner to create your business network.
