Mothers Day gifts to enhance up her home.

By: Amy Boston

Constantly challenging to figure out what to get for your mother - however look at these additional choices. Alma Fortune Cups influenced by the Turkish custom of Tasseography (coffee forturne telling), Opera Porcelain with its delicately rounded styles (just like mom), Kyros Cup & Plate just the thing for an morning coffee and snack. For tea-drinkers, Morehouse Double Walled Glass (shown with a Tea Forte Silken Tea Infuser) and the illicit looking Tea Stick from Blomus: fill with tea, set in a cup of warm water and let the tea steep perfectly. We were introduced to the creation of Jerry Jacobs, a San Francisco based Interior Designer. Though I usually be inclined to more modern interiors, We were specifically taken with this room, in a flat in the Presidio Heights area of San Francisco. I love the gentle palatte punctuated by the robust piece of fine art and the dark flooring and lighting. The combination of textiles certainly gets my interest without becoming a distraction. I asked Jerry about the development - I was so interested about that painting - was it the inspiration or the finishing complement? “The property owner had found the painting early on in the process and asked me if I can work with it. To me it looked like a modern Toulouse Lautrec… also I have always appreciated red, black and white motifs, so I said yes. She purchased it and we did work around it a bit.” Jerry said he insisted on the black frame to match the flooring and lighting. At the client’s request, golden was chosen as the primary color, which worked well with the girls’ hair. I admire the moderation excercised within this room - I asked Jerry how he knows when he’s completed. “I am typically very restrained, I find that it makes interiors last longer or become timeless. I tend to be monochromatic, but I do love to produce life into the spaces. In this case natural daylight worked exceptionally well too.” He went on to say that there was no more need, the room was completed. I wholeheartedly agree.

Introduced at IMM Cologne, Ruche is the couch brought down to its most simple elements: a frame and a bed. The easy beechwood structure is draped with a thick quilted mattress. The finish, as thoughtful and detailed as the ruching of a woman’s garment, delivers an pleasing, relaxed yet stylish feel.
Linea’s Santa Monica warehouse is full of illustrious household furniture design at truly remarkable deals. Take Flipt by Jeff Miller for Cerruti Baleri. This chair doubles as a side chair or lounge, with a easy flip, you can open or close the lower section of the chair to make it work either way. This piece is on the floor at Linea Santa Monica for 30% off the initial price.

Flower Ring by Black + Blum was reportedly influenced by the Fibonacci Curve, you recognize that series of numbers that accounts for so many of the spiraling shapes that transpire in nature… Well, in any case, the pot is beautiful and minimal. Executed in liberated flowing wire in addition to a chromed finish, the bud vase is outfitted with a water tube that is hidden inside. Consider linking more than a few Blossom Loops together for a superior impact.
London established Black + Blum is an Anglo-Swiss design institute that ventured out to build up their own product line. Seems it was a worthy choice as their modern accessories line continues to develop.
