There are many reasons to potty train your Husky. One reason is that it will provide him an opportunity to relieve himself when he needs to while preventing any unwanted accidents at home. No one wants to see their nice living room carpet ruined after all. One more reason is that it'll make both you and your dog's life much less stressful. If he knows where he's allowed to relieve himself he will always go to that spot before doing his business. You will feel better too knowing that he knows he has a designated spot for relieving himself and that you do not have to worry about him making a mess on your carpets.

You may wish to try potty training your dog inside if you reside in an apartment or condo. The indoor training method is simple and requires using puppy pee pads. If you decide you don't feel like using the pads, you can instead use paper. The first step is to determine where your puppy has tendency to relieve himself. By knowing where that location is, you'll be able to figure out where to initially put the pad, even though this is not the spot you want him to be using. Once he begins using the pad, you can gradually move it towards where you want him to be going. Eventually you'll be getting your Husky to go in the spot you want and not where he wants. While this method may take some time depending on where the spot is, with patience you will see success.

If you live in a house, or after going with indoor potty training, you choose you do not want to do it inside anymore, you could try potty training outdoors. There are many methods to go about this, however one which has been proven to work is crate training. How crate training works is that you simply put your Husky in the crate whenever you leave your house, even when it's for a short amount of time. When you come back, take him from the crate and lead him outside. This is when he should be learning to relieve himself. Wait outside until he does his business and do not head back into the house before he does. Once he is done, reward him with plenty of praise. By following this method he'll learn that if he has to go he'll go outside and not all over the house.
