Per 750 gallons of water, the rates increased from 65 cents to 95 cents.

An average of 1.6 million to 1.8 million gallons per day is the community's ability to emit waste as compared to the plant's capacity of 3 million gallons, said the city commissioner.

They plan to purchase the new system which can be resized depending on the amount of the plant's discharge. He said the city, with a population of about 13,000 is seeing steady growth to the north. For future developments, it is now planning to enhance its sewer infrastructure. Rates are not going to rise sometime in the near future. Rate increase should be carried for they have already taken new growth into consideration and that they have already analyzed rate charges a year ago and increased them in small amounts, according to him.
