Why I Feel That Domestic Violence is a Choice

You wonder why abused victims are not believed by many when they open up. Wonder no more this is because the abusers are aware of what they are doing. They do all they can to do it in private. Love is a feeling that cannot be hidden and it has no bounds that is why I can believe it that you do not choose who to love and whether to love not. Its crazy, it just happens. Domestic violence is a choice because the abusers do not do it in public they choose who to hit and whether to do it hard and gently. Such acts of impunity should not be encouraged by the sympathy from the public.
A partner who is abusing you knows very well it is wrong. A person who is angry and provoked cares less where he hits or what he says. Domestic violence is a choice since these people target the hidden parts of the body. If a woman is hit on the face I would use provocation as a factor to consider in my judgement. If the abuser is careful to hit only breasts or another covered part of the body, it was quite intentional and it was a choice. They don't want others to see the injuries inflicted on the body. What does that tell you? It is lack of respect, love and nothing should keep you as a woman in such an abusive relationship because he is not changing soon.
Domestic violence is a choice because if a stern action is taken to punish the abuser, he rarely does it again. For instance if the woman is the no-none-sense type and he calls the police, things will change. The arrest and the money he pays to be released from prison serves as scaring technique and he rarely repeat the violence again. If it was something he had no control over, he would do it again and again. Women should learn that domestic violence is a choice and they can control it according to how they respond. As a woman, if you accept to be used as a door mat, you will be one. Women, stand up for your rights! You can make a choice of not being abused.
